Our Story
Meet the founders
It all began when Shikkha and Ranjish came together with a shared love for India’s timeless artistry, heritage weaves, and the stories hidden within every thread of a saree.
What started as endless admiration for handcrafted textiles, intricate motifs, and unique designs from across India slowly turned into a dream — to create a brand that celebrates tradition while embracing the modern woman.
For Shikkha, sarees have always been more than attire. “A saree carries emotion, elegance, and identity. It has the power to make a woman feel rooted in tradition while expressing her individuality in the most graceful way.” Ranjish believed that India’s artistry deserved to be experienced beyond occasions — as a part of everyday beauty and culture. At House of Kateelam, every drape is a tribute to India’s rich culture, artistry, and the women who carry it forward with grace. Naming Our Brand The name House of Kateelam was born from devotion, faith, and gratitude. Inspired by the blessings of Goddess Kateel, the journey began with a heartfelt belief — offering sarees as tokens of gratitude for every prayer answered and every blessing received. What once started as an emotional offering soon became a deeper calling. The founders wanted the brand name to reflect not just elegance, but also faith, strength, and divine femininity. “Kateelam” became a symbol of that belief. And With That… In 2025, House of Kateelam was born with a vision to bring together the finest artistry and unique saree Every saree at House of Kateelam is thoughtfully chosen to make women feel connected — to tradition, to artistry, and to themselves.
